“So we’re stuck here. That pisses me off.” – Earl Basset in Tremors
It has recently been announced that we are getting a new Tremors movie sometime in 2018. The sixth film in the series is titled Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell. Burt Gummer and his son Travis will return once again to fight against the Graboids, although this time someone has turned the Graboids into personal weapons!
For those that don’t know about the series, prepare for spoilers below and go watch (at least the first two of) these movies. I personally consider the first film a 90’s horror comedy classic because it was one of the first “monster horror” movies that I saw as a kid and one that I still watch to this day.
I have listed the first five movies below as well as a quick synopsis of each film and the main cast.
Kevin Bacon, Finn Carter, Michael Gross, Fred Ward
The first film in the Tremors series follows a group of people living in Perfection, Nevada as they try to survive against a giant worm-like monster that attacks anything that moves on land.
Chris Garton, Michael Gross, Helen Shaver, Fred Ward
Two of the survivors from the first movie agree to kill Graboids in order to get rich quick. What they didn’t expect is that the underground monsters have evolved into a more of a challenge then they expected.
Tremors: Back to Perfection
Shawn Christian, Susan Chuang, Michael Gross
Now a professional Graboid hunter, Burt Gummer returns to Perection, Nevada to find his town infested with a new and terrifying evolution of the Graboids.
Tremors: The Legend Begins
Sara Botsfod, Billy Drago, Michael Gross
Taking place in the late 1800s, Burt Gummer’s ancestor Hiram visits Rejection, Nevada to investigate mysterious deaths occurring in a local silver mine. Hiram soon finds out that gigantic underground killer worms are the cause of the deaths and calls in some back up to deal with the issue.
Brandon Auret, Natalie Becker, Emmanuel Castis, Michael Gross, Jamie Kennedy
Burt Gummer, now the star of a survival TV series, is offered a job to kill Graboids in South Africa. Burt and his camera man travel to South Africa to find not only their old nemesis Graboids, but a new sub-species of them as well.
Are you looking forward to Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell? Should they stop making Tremors movies? Should we cast Mark Wahlberg in a Tremors movie? (Yes…) Please comment below and let me know!
