At D23 Expo on Saturday, Square Enix and Disney announced to fans of the Kingdom Hearts franchise that they would be journeying to the world of Toy Story when Kingdom Hearts III hits the shelves (supposedly) in 2018.
Kingdom Hearts first appeared in 2002 and over the years more than a dozen games have been released. The game is a crossover between Square Enix and Disney, meaning you see Cloud from Final Fantasy VII standing next to Donald Duck.
Fans have been waiting for over 10 years for the third installment of the series and, according to the trailer released at D23 Expo today, it will be released for PlayStation4 and XboxOne in 2018.
Previous announcements have confirmed familiar worlds will be appearing in Kingdom Hearts III such as the world of Hercules, Twilight Town, and the Mysterious Tower as well as brand new worlds such as the kingdom of Corona from Tangled and San Fransokyo from Big Hero 6.
And today (7/15), via a brand new trailer, it was announced that the newest world would take us to Andy’s Room complete with Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and others from the classic Pixar film Toy Story.
