New “Merlin Saga” to be Directed by Ridley Scott

2017 saw Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant and All the Money in the World and it looks like 2018 will be just as exciting for the seasoned director.  Scott is currently in talks with Disney to direct a film adaption of T.A. Barron’s Merlin Saga book series.

The Merlin Saga follows the origin story of Merlin as a young man… the same wizard who would grow to become the mentor and confidant of King Arthur. If you’re interested in reading it before the movie comes out, you’d better start soon! The story spans twelve full length novels!

This is the second Merlin-centric film Disney is currently planning. A live-action remake of The Sword in the Stone is also in the works with Scott’s name attached to that as well.

This is a developing story with little news on cast or release date. Keep it locked on the Geekiverse for any updates.
