If you wander the streets of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there’s a whole lot of (pixie) dust, barriers, and construction to be found. For some, it brings a feeling of disappointment. But for Star Wars fans, it brings nothing but pure unadulterated excitement.
Despite the fact that Disney is infamous of drawing out projects for years past their initially due date (here’s looking at you, Shanghai Disney), it looks like things are moving along rather quickly for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the new Star Wars expansion coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Two permits have been filed to begin work on the new land’s headlining attractions. These permits identify structural, electrical, and mechanical designers as well as contractors who specialize in steelwork and plasterwork.
The Nassal Company, known for their work on attractions at Universal such as The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man as well as The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, have been identified on one of the permits.
Both these permits expire at the end of September 2019… which gives us an idea of when we can expect to be transported to a galaxy far, far away…
