Force Friday II Offers Look At Episode VIII Rey – What’s With That Bruise?

Force Friday II was officially announced by Lucasfilm & Disney today. It will take place September 1, 2017 around the world, including right here in the United States. This is the followup to the original Force Friday that took place in 2015 ahead of Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ release. It is the first day that The Last Jedi toys will be available to the public.

The image released today shows a slightly updated Finn and Poe Dameron with a new-look Rey, who is totally Jedi-ed out. Her hair is down and kind of resembles the late, great Qui-Gon Jinn. She’s holding that Lightsaber like a Skywalker.

But what about that mini bruise above her left eye?

What is the story there? Jedi training? A rematch with Kylo Ren? My thought is this is just a little touch from Disney to send all of us crazed Star Wars fans into a tizzy. We speculate everything, we scrutinize the smallest of details. And it’s so much fun. One thing we can all agree on – she looks fantastic.

Of course, only time will tell but until then, it will be a heck of a lot of fun to speculate.
