Geek Madness returns, and now we know what we’re doing. Well, with this, anyway.
In our never-ending quest to make the Geekiverse way more fun than a colonoscopy, we have a team of fun dudes and dudettes working round the clock to come up with new ideas. The cool idea of the month is to expand our already successful and fun Geek Madness Tourney.
Last year’s event went something like this: we built brackets, and then we put the matchups out there and you voted. The character that got the most votes in a round advanced to the next round. We were young. Our lives were an open book. We had no idea what we wanted to achieve. Worked out pretty well, for a shoot from the hip event.
This year we are expanding. If you want to expand with us, you can play along. Brackets will be available for you to submit. Just like the NCAA tourney, you can pick your winners from beginning to end. Each round will have winners and prizes, and the overall winner will get a prize too. We are in talks now with some potential sponsors, and will announce the prizes as they materialize.
If you just want to vote, you can vote. Free of charge, easy peasy. If you want to submit brackets and be eligible for prizes, register for our mailing list here, or come on out and visit us at the Buffalo Soup-Fest on January 28 at the Buffalo Convention Center. We’ll have a place for you to sign up.
We’ll be announcing the bracket pairings for the first round on February 1, and the instructions for submitting your free bracket will also be announced then.
