There’s no denying it: ever since the Walt Disney Company acquired the rights to Lucasfilm back in 2012, they’ve managed to find new ways to market the Star Wars franchise in ways that no one could imagine. And at D23 Expo in July, they announced their biggest undertaking yet: a fully immersive Star Wars themed hotel coming to the Walt Disney World resort in Florida.
Thanks to The Disney Blog, we’re starting to get a more concrete idea of what we can expect when this new resort arrives.
Each Guest can decide whether or not they want to complete a “mission” while at the resort. This mission will be carried out both at the resort and at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Your success of this mission determines your popularity at the resort.
And (of course) the question on everyone’s mind is, “How much?” If you’ve ever been on a Disney Cruise, you’re already prepared for the price. Projected prices seem to be $1300 for the first Guest and an extra $400 per extra Guest. And did we mention this is only for a two night stay? Yikes!
Start saving your pennies, Star Wars fans. While these prices seem a bit out of this world, how could anyone pass up the chance to actually live in the Star Wars universe? And don’t forget: droid butlers!
Will you be booking a stay at the newest Disney resort? Or is the price beyond your budget? Are you a fan of the Star Wars additions coming to the Disney Parks? Let us know in the comments!
