BREAKING: New Details on Star Wars Land Released from D23

Disney has just confirmed the name of the new Star Wars themed lands opening at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. At the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts panel on Saturday, Bob Chapek, announced the official name of the new additions to the theme parks to be Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

The new park is scheduled to open in the first half of 2019 for Disneyland and later in the same year for Walt Disney World.

At Galaxy’s Edge, Guests will find themselves in the middle of the action as they explore the distant trading port where they might bump into familiar faces like BB-8 and Chewbacca as well as First Order Troopers and even Rex the less than adequate pilot Guests met on the previous version of Star Tours.

More information was also given on the two attractions we can expect to see.

One attraction will make Guests feel like they’re on a Star Destroyer inside the hangar bay. This attraction will be on a scale that Guests have never seen at any of the Disney Parks.

The second attraction will place Guests right in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon where they will be piloting the ship, shooting blasters, and preparing to jump to hyperspace–all while completing a critical mission. But be careful! How well you complete your mission will determine if you collect more galactic credits or end up on the bounty hunter’s wanted list in the Cantina.
