Injustice 2 Fighter Pack 1 DLC Impressions: Red Hood & Sub-Zero

Injustice 2 has been out for some time now and I am still enjoying it daily. After playing through the campaign (twice for the achievement) I figured I would get bored quick. Thankfully, I was wrong. Besides the campaign and online fighting mode, the game also has “The Multiverse” and a Gear System, both of which I am obsessed with.

The Multiverse can be played either solo or online, with a Guild which you can either create or join.  The Multiverse in solo mode offers players the chance to earn in-game credits, experience, and gear for specific characters while fighting in multiple scenarios. Playing the battle simulator in this mode also unlocks alternative endings for each character, including the DLC characters.  This offers the perspective as to what would have happened if that individual character defeated Brainiac instead of Batman and Superman.

The Gear System isn’t overly in-depth, but there is nothing like playing dress up with your favorite superheroes and villains. Each piece of gear offers not only a change in appearance, but stat boosts as well.  The game also gives you five different slots for customized load outs so you can adapt your stats and play style while fighting different opponents.

The first two characters from the Injustice 2: Fighting Pack 1 have been released within the past two months. Three if you count Darkseid (ruler of Apokolips) from the pre-order bonus, although he is also available for purchase.  Red Hood (Jason Todd) was released for the game in mid-June and Sub-Zero (Kuai Liang of the Lin Kuei Clan) was just released on July 11th.  As mentioned earlier, they each have their own alternative ending in The Mulitverse Battle Simulator, as well as their own gear to unlock.

The final DLC character from Fighter Pack 1 is Starfire, who I can assume will be released mid August. We should be seeing a game play trailer soon, since they did the same for Red Hood and Sub-Zero before release. In addition, here are my 5 favorite characters to play as, based on performance:
